I was looking back through my photos this weekend and found these gems that I hadn’t edited, posted to Facebook, or blogged. I’m so grateful to have had my camera that day – it’s rare lately that I have my big camera with me and this photo set really makes me smile to look through.
Back in November, S and I were driving home on a beautiful Autumn day. The sun light was gorgeous so I told her we could stop by the park on the way home. We started at the playground, then skipped along the paths, checked out the ducks and all the leaves. She’s very much into everything being in rainbow colors and was excited that we could leaves of so many colors.
My best friend had a baby! Yep, I’ve been pretty excited about this little guy. This newborn session was at their home, in Tucker’s nursery. I love how they decorated his nursery – it’s unique and just beautiful! Tucker was two weeks old when I photographed him, and this precious baby stayed wide awake the whole time.
I’m working a little backwards through sessions this year, so their maternity session hasn’t been blogged yet but will be soon. In the meantime, check out their session Autumn session from 2011. It’s in the favorites category with a few other of my sessions: http://www.sarahshahportraits.com/ashley-ryan-kansas-photography/
This is Josh. He is a Maize South high school senior, among many other things. (Mom, this is the perfect time to grab some tissues)
I have had the pleasure of knowing this young man and his family for about seven years now. I’ve watched him grow up from a small middle school boy through the present time.. as he’s approaching this high school graduation. He has changed and grown so much over those years, and I’m blessed to have been given the opportunity to be a part of this family.
Let me take you back to the day of this session.. Josh had an entourage along for the ride. Extra helpers at sessions are fine by me, it helps to get the subject at ease, laughing, carrying clothing changes, and we always have fun through out the sessions. Shelby was great at getting Josh to flash a big, genuine smile!
I will be blogging a few candid outtakes from this session some time soon. You will laugh!
In Fall 2011, I photographed Josh’s Sister’s high school senior pictures. We decided for Josh’s session we would walk around the same area of Old Towne as we did for Shelby’s photos. Her senior session can be seen HERE.
