1.  I have my first session of Spring today!

2.  Still struggling with daylight savings time but I am enjoying the evening sun.

3.  A few weeks ago I asked here about children chewing on objects, since Seema loves to chew on books, etc.  We had her doctor appointment this past week and they are running tests to see if she’s anemic/iron deficiency.  If her test results come back fine then we’re going to chalk it up to her looking for attention.

4.  Did you participate in Earth Hour yesterday?  It’s so hard to disconnect from the electronics but we DID IT.  Lit some candles, had story time, and planned meals for this coming week.

5.  This weekend we release balloons for Layla Grace.  I originally wanted to release some in her honor on the day of her memorial but with rain here it wasn’t possible.  This morning when I saw Layla’s Mom’s tweet I knew we had to do it today:

Brought Layla home again, this time in a small pink urn. I cried the whole way. I pray none of you ever have to hold your child this way. 3:05 PM Mar 26th via Tweetie

We bought the balloons and Seema told the cashier that they were for Layla’s birthday.  The whole car ride Seema kept telling me that she was going to give Layla her balloons.  She thought she was going over for a play date.  So I tried my best to explain that we were going to let the balloons float to Layla’s house, since her house is far away.  And that she would play with them when she got them.

We had to hurry to the release spot before the rain storm.  Seema decided that really she didn’t want to give the balloons away.  So I let her walk with them and have fun watching them blow in the wind.  She watched in awe and proceeded to bawl when I released them into the air.  All I could think of was Layla’s family.  I have been so touched by this little girl’s story.  On the way home Seema called her Dad and said “balloons float in sky Layla home”.

7.  Ending on a happy note…. so glad that my tot is finally coming around to looking at the camera again.  Eye contact makes me a very happy Momma.

1.  Happy Spring!  Hello snow!  I guess Winter had to get one more roar before letting us move on to Spring.

2. This past week I was out of town for an IT conference in Orlando (my full time job is in IT).  It was just my luck that while I’m there it’s 60s and overcast but the morning I’m leaving its beautiful, sunny 74 degrees.

I had the opportunity to leave the conference location for a couple hours with a few other people I meet there.  We went to check out Winter Park.  The vintage feeling – brick streets, small town touches, and shops lining the streets – stole my heart.

3. Jet lag caught up with me today.  I took my first afternoon nap in months.

4.  I will be having 4 contests this year!!  Stay tuned for details on the first in the next few weeks.

5. This weekend I met some really great people.  This year I started in-person pre-session consultations and I am so enjoying having time to meet with everyone before your sessions.  Taking time to get to know you and your family really has made me even more excited to shoot your session and post your sneak peeks.

6.  I still have a few more sessions available in April & May.  Check my calendar for the dates, here.

7.  My friend and her husband are raising money & walking 1 mile for Wichita’s March of Dimes march on April 17th.  This is their first year raising money for the march and I wanted to pass along the information they sent me to see if we could help them to raise more money for this great cause.  I felt compelled to pass on this information since I have meet and photographed two of the beautiful children they are walking for.

Dear Sarah, Eric & I are very excited to again be a part of the March for Babies. This is our first March as fundraisers. Please help us reach our goal by making a donation to our walk. It’s easy and secure – just click through to make your donation.

Your gift will fund March of Dimes research and programs that help moms, like our sister-in-law, have full-term pregnancies and babies, like our nephews Keenan and Kendall, begin healthy lives. And it will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care. This function alone is so very vital.

This work is especially close to our hearts with the research March for Dimes provided to help our preemie nephews Keenan and Kendall. Although we lost Kendall we see how well Keenan continues to do and we know their research is worth every dime.

Thank you for helping us give all babies a healthy start!

God bless!
